Until I came back from the mall.
Okay, take this for reference:
[link]You see the curve? Yes. As I drive down the road on my bike, a man on his motorcycle comes around the corner with high speed.
He loses grip, his motorcycle turns sideways.
He flies off the vehicle, hits the ground, slides across the road, rolls over a few times. His motorcycle idles in the middle of the street, and I just stand exactly where my bicycle is in the photo, shocked at what just happened. What are the -f'cking- odds.
I dropped my bike, ran up to him, another man getting out of his car and running up to us. I give him my cellphone to call the ambulance while I move the vehicle off the street, as the motorcycle driver slowly gets up from the ground, moaning in pain. His helmet was broken, suit torn and a chunk of his skin on his face was ripped away from the sliding, his nose bleeding.
He tells me he's fine. Yep.
I just live a bit further up the street, so I let the other man take care of him and drive home... looking back, the ambulance still hasn't arrived even though it's right next to my home, so I went to the station myself. Some guy was taking the shopping into the office room, and since I don't seem to have another choice, I tell him what happened, and we run back to the injured driver... nope, after 15 minutes, still no ambulance. Seems like you can rely on them.
Didn't seem to matter since the driver insists on needing no help, he thanks me for trying though, we have a short talk before I finally head back home, assured he would be fine until he gets patched up.
Turned out he's a medic himself.
Heh.
